The Green Houses

There are four greenhouses on the property, with a total of approximately 1200 square feet. All are heated, cooled, and humidity controlled, providing the perfect growing conditions for RainCoast produce.

The largest two greenhouses produce the tastiest, juiciest, most flavorful tomatoes and peppers. Local chefs love to stop by the farm to purchase our amazing tomatoes and peppers for their special dishes.

Former RainCoast owner, Dick Schneider, continues to nurture two of the greenhouses which are dedicated to the collection of unique species and selected hybrid orchids and RainCoast Orchid Recovery Project. Who knew that these beautiful plants would thrive in our little corner of the world? We didn't at first, but we certainly know now! Check out Raincoast Orchids on our home page or contact Dick Schneider at 43nantucket43@gmail.com.

Solar Panels on RainCoast’s Barn, partially funded by a USDA Agricultural grant, provides electricity for the barn and all four greenhouses from March-December.
